Congratulations to our Odyssey of the Mind teams that participated in the Region 13 Tournament on February 17 at the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus.
Five teams represented Sherburne-Earlville at regionals, with three winning titles and advancing to the April 13 state finals at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
S-E won regional championships in “Rocking World Detour-Division I” (elementary school), “Drive-In Movie-Division II” (middle school), and “Rocking World Detour-Division III” (high school).
An SEHS team also placed third in “Classics ... Opening Night Antics-Division III,” and an SEMS squad took fourth in “Rocking World Detour-Division II.”
Additionally, SEMS eighth-grader Tucker Valentine earned special recognition at regionals by winning an individual OMER’s Award. According to the Odyssey of the Mind website, an OMER’s Award is given to those who serve as exemplary examples or role models through their actions or words during a tournament. It also is bestowed on team members who exhibit exceptional skill and talents.
Good luck at states, S-E!
