Congratulations to Karen Mulligan’s HS Foods classes on their third-place finish in the New York Agriculture in the Classroom’s Top Cut Beef Competition!
Contestants provided nutrition facts for all food items in their meals as submissions were required to follow National School Lunch Program nutritional guidelines. Students also had to follow food safety guidelines, develop three marketing strategies for their meal, and present a cost analysis for every ingredient (to determine a final profit margin).
A total of 68 classrooms competed this year. The top three entries in the elementary, middle and high school divisions earned awards from New York Agriculture in the Classroom and its contest co-sponsor, the New York Beef Council.
Way to go, Marauders!!!
