Congratulations to four of our varsity spring sports teams on earning Scholar-Athlete Team Awards from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association for the 2024 season!

Our baseball, softball, boys track and field, and girls track and field varsity programs all qualified for the award, which requires 75-percent of a varsity team to combine for an academic average of at least 90 during a sports season.

The NYSPHSAA also recognizes individuals as scholar-athletes for maintaining an academic average of 90 or better during a sports season. Girls track and field had 11 individuals honored, followed by boys track and field with 10, softball with nine, and baseball with seven. Four S-E golfers also earned NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Individual Awards.

Additionally, The Post Standard/syracuse.com has recognized S-E senior softball pitcher Haleigh Fisher as a First-Team All-Central New York All-Star. Haleigh, who struck out 254 batters this season and led S-E into the Section III Class B Tournament, is one of 21 CNY varsity softball players on the Small School First Team.
