May, Larchar top SEHS Class of 2025

Congratulations Lydia Larchar - SEHS Class of 2025 Salutatorian (4/2025)

The Sherburne-Earlville Central School District is proud to recognize Gaven May as valedictorian and Lydia Larchar as salutatorian of Sherburne-Earlville High School’s Class of 2025, which will graduate together in an outdoor ceremony (weather-permitting) June 20 at Marauder Stadium.

Valedictorian Gaven May
SEHS Valedictorian Gaven May has attended school at Sherburne-Earlville his whole life and has truly found his place among his friends and community. A snowboarder, roller-skater, and musician, Gaven often can be found doing what he loves when he isn’t working on schoolwork. He also shows dedication to the community by coaching Math Club and with his activity in the Chenango Youth Philanthropy Council.

A national merit-commended scholar and a top scorer on the SAT, Gaven has set himself apart from the rest. The son of Melanie and Michael May, Gaven will be attending Dartmouth College for Economics. He hopes to join the Dartmouth snowboarding team and continue playing music on campus in jazz band and wind ensemble. Eventually, Gaven wants to work in investment banking and earn an MBA. His end goal is to reach a partner or executive position at an investment firm.

Salutatorian Lydia Larchar
SEHS Salutatorian Lydia Larchar is a hardworking student-athlete who contributes greatly to the Sherburne-Earlville community. Despite the heavy workload of taking all honors and Advanced Placement classes, she still finds time to be a three-sport athlete.

Lydia is an active trumpet player in the Sherburne-Earlville band and a member of the community chorus program in Sherburne. She enjoys spending time at her family farm and youth group activities with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The daughter of Scott and Jenni Larchar, Lydia plans to study Animal and Dairy Science at Utah State University. After her time at university, she plans to go on a mission trip for her church.
