Graduation Update:

This week, Governor Cuomo approved districts’ planning of “drive in” and “drive through” graduation ceremonies. In keeping with current social distancing standards, no large group ceremonies will be allowed to occur. The S-E administration is planning for a drive through ceremony on June 27 that will be live streamed on social media. More specific information will follow in the next week.

S-E Is Still Winning in The Face of the School Closure:

CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Heidi Johnson and her Odyssey of The Mind team! Despite the unique circumstances of this pandemic age, Heidi’s team persevered through a myriad of obstacles and participated in the first ever virtual Odyssey of the Mind World Finals. Last Saturday night we learned of the results. Mrs. Johnson’s team won the coveted Ranatra Fusca Award for outstanding creativity. The Ranatra is an extremely rare award that’s bestowed upon a team for extraordinary creativity. The last time SE won the Ranatra at the World Finals was 2007! This goes without saying, but to win such an award in a global competition that’s centered on creative problem solving, is simply remarkable. In addition to the Ranatra, the team placed 4th in the world! They competed against powerful teams from all corners of the world & once again showed the power of an S-E education.

Mrs. Johnson’s Team consists of the following brilliant & imaginative students:

Jennifer Adsit (11)
Lillie Ashton (11)
Maleah Britton (11)
Anna Fern (9)
Lily French (11)
Justiss Kovack (11)
Peter Peschal (11)

Sincerely,
S-E Administration Team
