Congratulations to Jessica Lewis’ Odyssey of the Mind team, which is the first Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School squad to qualify for the World Finals!

Cody Lawson (4/2023)Mrs. Lewis and her team of Ryker Chase, Dexter Johnson, Clayton Lawton, Allan Lewis, Kylie Morgan, Kinsey Nelson and Margaret O’Connor qualified for the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals by placing third in Division I of the problem “Classics... The Walls of Troy” at the New York State Championships on April 15 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

The brightest and most creative minds in the world will compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals from May 24-27 at Michigan State University. Mrs. Lewis’ SEES team is one of more than 800 to qualify for the international competition.

Six Odyssey of the Mind teams represented the Sherburne-Earlville Central School District at the state championships, with four placing in the top 10 in their respective divisions. Additionally, Sherburne-Earlville High School senior Cody Lawson won the coveted OMER Award for extraordinary resilience and perseverance!

“I'd like to send my heartfelt appreciation to the coaches, administrators, Board of Education, families, and, of course, the students themselves,” SECSD Odyssey of the Mind Coordinator Jonathan Sherry said. “This has been, and continues to be, a magical Odyssey season!”
