S-E Robotics teams (3/2025)

Congratulations to our Sherburne-Earlville Robotics teams that competed at the Northern New York VEX Robotics State Championships on March 5 at Onondaga Community College!

Team Womp Womp (Blake Smith and Avery Solloway) and Team T-Wolves (Aaron Romanowski, Payton Holden, Nate Sherwood and Hudson Schwartz-Pumilio) represented S-E at states, which featured more than 70 teams competing in two divisions for seven invitations to the World Championships in Dallas.

Womp Womp started strong with a 6-1 record and the No. 4 ranking in the Engineering division. They went on to win their round of 16 and quarterfinal matches before falling by 3 points in the semifinals.

The T-Wolves started 3-2-2 and were ranked 14th in the Technology division before tying their third opponent in the round of 16. The T-Wolves won the round of 16 replay to advance to the quarterfinals but lost to an alliance that reached their division final.

Although S-E fell just short of reaching the World Championships for the fourth straight year, our Timberwolves are super excited to work on new robots for next year’s game, which will be released in May.

Merrick Griffith and Owen McCracken also competed this season for S-E Robotics, which thanks everyone who supported the program this year, including the following sponsors: Big M, Gilligan’s Restaurant, Lewis’ Restaurant, Magro’s, Sherburne Steel Sales, Sprinkl’d LLC, and Stewart’s Shops.

Our sponsors and many others helped S-E Robotics host its inaugural tournament – Timberwolf Turmoil – in January. The event was such a success that we’ll be doing it again next season!
