Congratulations to Sherburne-Earlville junior Lily Stoddard on qualifying for the state track and field championships in the discus!

Although Lily placed second in the Section III Division II State Qualifiers on Thursday at Cicero-North Syracuse with a distance of 99 feet, she beat the state standard of 110 feet with a throw of 110-3 earlier this season to qualify for states.

“Lily is doing an incredible job representing Sherburne-Earlville and upholding a high standard of character and what it means to be a student-athlete,” S-E track and field coach Will Slentz said.

Lily will return to C-NS on June 10 to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships. The D-II girls discus finals are set for 3:30 p.m. June 10, with the overall girls discus championships (top distances in divisions I and II combined) to follow at 10 a.m. June 11.
