Senior artist wins Gold Key!

I Dissent sculpture inset, Raven Rivenburgh CNY Scholastic Art Gold Key Award winner (1/2021)

Congratulations to Sherburne-Earlville senior Raven Rivenburgh on winning a Gold Key during the CNY Scholastic Art and Awards competition for the 2020-2021 school year.

SEHS Art Teacher Kayleigh Olive said the Gold Key is the highest honor one can earn in the regional competition. Raven’s sculpture of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, titled “I Dissent,” is now eligible for entry into the national competition.

“From September right up to Christmas break, Raven put every second of her free time into this sculpture,” Kayleigh said. “It was the perfect final touch to her college portfolio, which was recently accepted and praised by Rochester Institute of Technology. We are beyond thrilled for Raven and all of her accomplishments!”

Raven used the following materials to create her award-winning sculpture: acrylic paint (skin tones and hair), cardboard (glasses), clay (construction), false eyelashes, graduation gown, lace, scrunchie, and stones with glue (earrings).
