SECSD Virtual Learning Enrollment Information

Student working online stock (8/4/2020)

As we look to reimagine teaching and learning in the face of COVID-19, ensuring we meet the needs of all students is a task near and dear to our organization. In an attempt to provide a variety of options for receiving instruction, we will be offering both a blended learning model and a fully virtual option. The 100% virtual option will allow students to master course appropriate standards without entering the physical building. Students who select this option will be referred to as S-E Virtual Academy (SEVA) participants. If you would like to take part in the 100% virtual learning option, complete this Google Form or download and return this paper form to the main office. Responses are requested by Friday, August 14, 2020.

Students attending S-E Virtual Academy (SEVA) will receive instruction 100% at home electronically. If needed, a school device will be provided. SEVA participants will need regular access to reliable internet. Any barriers to this expectation must be addressed with the building principal no later than September 2, 2020.

Students who select the virtual option will have the option to return to the blended model during the first week of every 10-week marking period. In reverse, students who are attending the blended model may move to virtual learning at any time by notifying the building principal, in writing, of the need to do so.

Teachers will have office hours available on a daily basis to interact directly with SEVA participants. Curriculum and assessments will mirror that of students attending in the blended model. Students must engage in virtual learning activities daily. Technology support for My Apps, Google, Remote Learning Tools, and Frequently Asked Questions will be available through the South Central Regional Information Center (SCRIC) at https://sites.google.com/btboces.org/school-closure-technology-supp/ or by calling (607) 766-3800.
