Learning to read is the single most important activity in a child’s education. Studies show that children who read at home are better prepared to succeed in formal education.
Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) is a program that asks parents to read with their children for at least 15 minutes per day and stress that reading can be fun and informative. You can read books or anything with printed words!
Reading together daily strengthens your child's communication skills and your parent/child relationship. A "parent" who participates in PARP can be any adult who plays an important role in a child's life.
