Change to Classroom Snack Policy

Many of our students have food allergies and dietary restrictions. This can become a concern when food is provided from home and the ingredients are not known.

Many of our students have food allergies and dietary restrictions. This can become a concern when food is provided from home and the ingredients are not known.
In an effort to safeguard the health of our students, homemade snacks will not be shared in our classrooms across the district. This change will be effective beginning on Monday, December 10, 2018. This includes food brought to school for holiday celebrations, snack time, and parties.
All snacks/foods that are sent to school for sharing MUST be purchased in a store with the legible ingredient label attached. Baked goods, fresh fruit, and yogurt parfaits are also available for purchase from our cafeterias. To check pricing and ordering instructions, use the "Families" link on the SE website.
Thank you for your understanding and help, as we strive to ensure the health and safety of all our students.
Sincerely,
SECSD Superintendent Eric Schnabl
